My hope

Many folks have asked me, "What do you hope for the town of Paradise?"

I've given this a lot of thought.

On November 8th, 2018 nearly 50,000 people were displaced off of the ridge and many were facing what they thought was certain death. The spirit we saw was one of neighborly love and generosity. Neighbors pulled each other out of the fire's path; strangers picking one another up as folks fled on foot and did so in solidarity and grace. The panic often associated with disasters of this scale was simply not present in Paradise.

The homes in neighboring communities were opened up to us. The entire world looked upon us with love and generosity. Donations poured in from every corner of the world.

You see, the truth of our collective fate was contagious. It is this generosity and neighborly love that I hope continues.
